Enlisted from Oberlin, OH on 14 April 1863. He was 28, single and working as a farmer.

Wounded on 18 July 1863 at Fort Wagner.

Wounded on 20 February 1864 at Olustee, FL.

Wounded on 30 November 1864 at Honey Hill, SC.

Discharged 7 June 1865.

Last known location: Norwalk, OH.
