Private Hill Harris of Company G, Massachusetts 54th Voluntary Infantry

Private Hill Harris (1837 - 30 January 1922) WIA, POW

Enlisted from Jackson, LA on 9 April 1863. He was 26, married and working as a farmer.

Wounded and imprisoned on 30 November 1864 at Honey Hill, SC.

He spent 146 days as a Prisoner of War and was released from prison on 25 April 1865.

Mustered out 30 September 1865 in Boston, MA.

His grave is in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
